A visit never to be forgotten...

Jaco Pieterse and Giuseppe Di Stefano -  Italian Operatic Tenor

This photo with Di Stefano was taken during a visit to his house in Bergamo, when I arrived 4:30 in the afternoon and told him I have to catch the train to Bazill for a singing appointment at 12 tonight, needless to say I missed the 12 o'clock train but we had a great time. He was explaining while playing his songs and doing falsetto demonstrations for me and after I sang a song said many nice things to me about my voice. A visit never to be forgotten.

Giuseppe Di Stefano (24 July 1921 – 3 March 2008) was an Italian operatic tenor who sang professionally from the late 1940s until the early 1990s. He was known as the "Golden voice" or "The most beautiful voice", as the true successor of Beniamino Gigli. He was also known for his long-term performance and recording association and brief romantic episode with the soprano Maria Callas.
