The reason for this blog...

The reason for this blog, is to correct incorrect information that has crept in subtly about the Teachings of the Feuchtinger method of correct vocal action information which took the Feuchtinger family three generations to perfect.
Please allow me to explain the background to Perfect Voice.
In reading through my diary while living with Professor Feauchtinger in his home, the last page of the last day brings to mind that that day was quite unique in my life...
“First” on the way to the airport Doris, Professor Eugene Feuchtinger's wife, himself and myself driving in the car, the tension was electric. Nobody was saying anything, reason being that they did not want me to leave as they had plans for me. The Professor was sad but at the same time understood my desire to be reunited with my family back in South Africa which I have not seen in three and a half months. Professor Feuchtinger broke the silence and said looking straight ahead ... “You have come far enough to carry on safely on your own, your understanding of the methodology is better than any student that I ever had, so much so that I would like you to continue teaching this method after my death. I also give you Carte Blanche to leave out whatever you as a singer feel is not that important, as there is much detail and medical information that is not essential in learning about voice ...” Thus my motivation for rewriting Feuchtinger's thirty booklets that became antiquated because the structure was not clearly explained. There for I decided to write the Manual titled "Manual for the study of the human Voice”. I make it clear throughout the Manual that the information contained herein is exactly what Feuchtinger taught and not my opinions. I also added a DVD for the benefit of the students in which they could see exactly how the exercises are done. This was the major missing ingredient in his lessons. Thus the reason I had to go there to learn from him personally.
One can put all Feuchtinger's thirty booklets on to be downloaded, plus Roger Yovan's graphics on correct and wrong vocal actions, and it will be of no value to the student who wants to learn about correct vocal action. The reason being that if you do not see and hear it explained as on the DVD the method will not be understood correctly.
I will be active on this blog to answer and explain any questions relating to voice development. Always remember if you cannot demonstrate and explain correct vocal action you cannot teach it.
This is a science not to be taken lightly.
